Cerys Sayer, instructed by Maria Haywood of Wannops LLP, spent over a year at various hearings in the Crown Court at Reading contesting an alleged breach of an Order by her client.
Through her persistence, she was able to obtain disclosure that eventually confirmed that the Order as drafted was defective, and thereafter the Prosecution stopped the case.
Richard Barton says, ‘We are very proud of the tenacity displayed by Cerys in this matter. It is a helpful reminder, as she tells me, that all such Orders need to be carefully and persistently scrutinised, so as to ensure that there is not a miscarriage of justice. Our Chambers are able to provide Counsel of all seniority who can undertake such detailed and expert analysis’.
