All at Westgate Chambers extend our very best wishes to HHJ Tain as he steps down from the Bench, after a career in which he was, in recent years, the longest serving member of the judiciary in the whole of England and Wales.
Richard Barton, Joint Head of Chambers, says, ‘Paul Tain has been a significant figure in the Sussex Criminal Justice System for as long as I can remember. He was a formidable District Judge, and went on to become one of the most respected Circuit Judges in the area. His calm and measured approach to all manner of people who appeared in his Court was an exemplar to everyone.
We hope he enjoys a long and happy retirement.’
