It is with great sadness that Westgate Chambers announces the death of John Collins. He passed away earlier this week after a short illness.
John founded Chambers in 1987, and was always a passionate supporter of young practitioners, keen to allow them to have the benefits of a nurturing and friendly Set. Members, past and present, will be able to attest to his numerous acts of kindness over the years.
He was a compelling advocate, appearing in many high-profile cases. After he retired from frontline practice, he retained a keen interest in all matters at Chambers, and was a wise adviser to those who took on the day-to-day running of a busy and flourishing Set.
