Maria Hancock, instructed by WMC Legal in two cases and Fitzhugh Gates in the third, has been successful recently, in three consecutive months, in showing to the satisfaction of the respective Courts that allegations of non-accidental injury against her clients were not proven.  All her clients had their children returned to them.

Richard Barton, Head of Chambers, says, ‘Maria is the ‘go-to’ barrister for any parent facing these very complex and distressing cases, in particular in Sussex.  I have seen her work in this complex area of practice; and her knowledge of the expert forensic details, and her ability to marshal the evidence is second to none.  She is a very formidable advocate, and an excellent head of our Family team’.
