Richard Barton, briefed by RASSO London, obtained guilty verdicts on all 12 counts relating to non-recent familial sexual abuse after a two week trial. The case concerned allegations dating back to the 1970s, and involved a detailed analysis of a large amount of material from a number of agencies.
Sean Gould, Senior Clerk, said, ‘This is a perfect example of how Westgate Chambers is able to deal with the most difficult of cases. We were able to arrange Richard’s diary so that he could be present at every preliminary hearing, deal with complicated disclosure issues including conferences, and attend when the victim had her pre-trial court visit. We are very proud to be able to provide this level of service to both Prosecution and Defence.’
