Westgate Chambers is one of the leading standalone chambers in the South East.
We deliver excellence in family, civil, criminal, regulatory, health & safety and planning law. We are home to more than 40 best in class legal technicians who provide a genuinely personal touch alongside the highest quality advocacy, representation and advice.
In terms of our ethos, we pride ourselves on being approachable and inclusive and ensuring all our practitioners enjoy a supportive, collegiate environment. You will have the structure and support in which to build the practice you want, proactively managed by our excellent clerking team on both an individual and team level.
Our work is as varied as it is interesting.
While the majority comes from our loyal following of instructing solicitors, many of whom have worked with us since Chambers opened, we also work extensively with local government, trade bodies, in-house lawyers and various prosecuting authorities. We are also receiving an increasing number of instructions from members of the public thanks to our direct access accreditation.
Whether you are seeking a new challenge or looking to begin a career at The Bar, Westgate Chambers are always interested in talking to the right barristers.

As well as benefitting from a rigorous training programme that can be tailored to a pupil’s key areas of interest, you will also spend time with outside agencies such as the Crown Prosecution Service, the probation service, housing agencies, and local authorities.

Mini-Pupillage opportunities
Chambers offers a total of 14 Mini-Pupillages a year.
