Dale Sullivan appointed next Head of Chambers

Westgate Chambers is pleased to announce that Dale Sullivan will succeed Richard Barton as Head of Chambers.

Dale is a highly respected senior criminal practitioner with extensive experience and has played an active role in the administration of Chambers in recent years.

Commenting on his appointment, Dale said:

“It is an absolute honour to be appointed as the next Head of Westgate Chambers. Thanks to Richard Barton’s unwavering dedication and skill, he leaves the role with Westgate Chambers in a position of great strength.

Together with the Management Team, I look forward to leading Westgate Chambers into the future, ensuring we continue to deliver first-class service to our clients, building on our success, and upholding the strong sense of togetherness and unity that defines the Westgate family.”

Richard Barton has chosen to step down after 12 years as Head of Chambers.

Reflecting on the transition, Richard said:

“I am very pleased that Dale is taking on the role. He joins Gareth Burrows, Head of Crime, and Louise Walls, Head of Family, as part of a new generation of leadership.

I should make it clear that I am not stepping away from practice and will continue as a criminal practitioner.”
