Gayle is a highly respected family law practitioner specialising in both public and private law matters. She appears at all levels of the family court up to the High Court.

Known for her empathetic and compassionate approach, Gayle is particularly skilled at supporting clients through the emotional challenges of family proceedings. She is especially effective in working with vulnerable or anxious individuals, quickly building trust and rapport. Her calm, warm, and sensitive approach resonates with clients from all walks of life, who consistently value her down-to-earth manner and high standard of client care.

Gayle is widely recognised for her professionalism, meticulous preparation of the papers and eye for detail. She is praised for her strong advocacy and well-drafted paperwork. She is committed to seeing cases through to final hearing wherever possible.

Gayle is a Resolution trained mediator although she is not currently accepting mediation work.

Outside of her legal work, Gayle enjoys theatre, music (particularly jazz), and caring for her parrots and assorted other animals. She is also Chair of Governors at a primary school and has a passion for singing.

Public Law Children

Gayle maintains a busy public law practice, representing clients at every stage of proceedings. She regularly represents parents, grandparents and other relatives, and children through their Guardians. She vigorously advances her clients’ cases, whatever accusation they face or bring.

Her experience in public law includes:

  • Acting for vulnerable clients with complex needs, including those with learning disabilities, mental health issues, and drug or alcohol dependency;
  • Handling complex hearings involving those with, complex facts, allegations of non-accidental injury, serious domestic abuse, severe neglect, sexual abuse, cases involving fatal injuries to a sibling of the subject child/ren, and concurrent criminal proceedings and investigations.

Child Arrangements

Gayle has substantial experience of dealing with complex and entrenched cases between parents. Gayle also regularly acts for children through court-appointed Guardians, as well as representing special guardians and grandparents. Gayle provides a robust yet realistic approach to the resolution of these family disputes.

Gayle undertakes the full range of private law children matters, including:

  • Disputes over contact and residence;
  • Child arrangements orders and their enforcement;
  • Parental responsibility issues;
  • Specific issue and prohibited steps orders, including disagreements about international travel, schooling, changes of name, and medical treatment;
  • Special guardianship orders (and applications to discharge);
  • Domestic and international relocation;
  • Declarations of parentage.

Gayle is frequently instructed in cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, including controlling and coercive behaviour.

Gayle also accepts instructions in non-molestation and occupation order applications under the Family Law Act 1996.

Direct Access

Gayle provides advice and representation to lay clients via Direct Access.
