On 4th February Martha Walsh, together with WSCC Court Progression Officer Laura Feitcher and WSCC Practice Development Lead Bridget McDermott, delivered the training session “Language That Cares” to Magistrates and Legal Advisors across Sussex and Surrey.
This session marked the first of four training events within the 2026 Magistrate and Legal Advisor Training Programme, organised by the Family Justice Board Quality Circle. Martha’s presentation focused on the use of language, the impact of terminology in the context of domestic abuse, and the next steps for embedding the learning into practice.
