Patrick Steel, specialist Family Law Barrister at Westgate Chambers, together with Lucy Kork of Cafcass, recently delivered a training day for East Sussex County Council’s cohort of newly qualified social workers.
The session focused on Section 7 reports, Practice Direction 12J, and the role of local authorities in private children proceedings.
The training included group exercises based on an exemplar Section 7 report, a mock cross-examination of a Family Court Adviser, and a Q&A session.
