Amani Mohammed

Barrister

Prior to joining the Bar, Amani spent over two years working for a specialist Family Law firm undertaking advocacy in both Child Arrangements and Care Proceedings. Amani was also regularly instructed in respect of Family Law Act proceedings.

Amani is known for her thorough preparation, collaborative approach, pragmatic advice and ability to put clients at ease. She is a determined, forensically minded advocate who will fearlessly advance her client’s case at every hearing.

Child Arrangements

Amani has a busy practice and regularly acts for parents in applications for Child Arrangement Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders. Amani represents parents and children through their Guardian in all disputes concerning living and contact arrangements, including cases that involve parental alienation and applications to remove children permanently from the jurisdiction (domestic and international) and challenging Prohibited Steps Orders preventing removal from the jurisdiction.

Care Proceedings

Amani has gained extensive experience in dealing with cases that include issues of domestic abuse, neglect, non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, substance misuse, mental health,  Amani has considerable experience of representing vulnerable clients and achieving the best outcome for her clients. 

Amani is also regularly instructed in applications for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders, often involving parallel Children Act proceedings.
