We were very pleased to see that Brighton Hospital’s neonatal ICU fundraiser – a cause we at Westgate Chambers have been actively involved in – has smashed its original target by almost 750% having raised just under £8000.

The fundraising campaign was started by two parents whose premature son’s life had been saved by the brilliant staff at the unit.

They simply wanted to show how much they appreciated their tireless work and dedication.  As well as saying a massive thank you,  they wanted to raise money for equipment and other things such as chairs, nursing pillows and refreshments to make other parents feel more comfortable during their visits.

To raise the money the couple and their friends completed a gruelling three marathons in a day!

Obviously even the thought of three marathons in one day was far too strenuous for Chambers to even contemplate!

Instead  we teamed up with Porsham Cakes (a specialist cake maker run by a former colleague at another chambers) and supplied a range of raffle prizes and refreshments for the neonatal ICU fundraiser as well as making our own financial donation to the cause.

If you would like to donate to this campaign and support the amazing work Brighton Hospital’s neonatal ICU and premature baby unit do, you can do so here.
