Scott Sharp defending in PWITS class A case secures a suspended sentence for his client.

The defendant pleaded to two counts of being concerned in the supply of a controlled substance Class A to another for crack cocaine, and heroin at the first attendance in the Crown Court. Two further counts of conspiracy were left to lie on file.

The defendant was facing a significant custodial sentence with a starting point of three years. However, due to a combination of an appropriate basis of plea and suitable mitigation on behalf of the defendant, Scott persuaded the Court that a suspended sentence was suitable, imposing a sentence of 18 months custody suspended for 24 months, with the requirement of up to 25 RAR days and 160 hours unpaid work requirement.

Additionally, Scott successfully invited the Court to direct the previous counts left to lie on file were removed upon the Crown offering no evidence on these counts.

Scott was instructed by Sarah Smith of Tildens Ltd.

Sarah Smith said: “I am so impressed with Scott, the result was fantastic.”
