It is with very deep sadness that Westgate Chambers has to announce the death of Piers Reed.  He died on Wednesday 31^st August 2022 after a long illness, with has family around him.

When Piers suffered serious ill-health last year he permanently stepped away from his practice at the Bar, but remained in regular contact with Chambers and the local Bar.

Piers requested a family-only funeral.  In due course Westgate will be arranging an event to celebrate his life.

As a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn, Piers’ death was marked on Friday by the lowering of the flag to half-mast and the ringing of the Inn’s bell at lunchtime.
