We are delighted to announce Amani Mohammed has joined Westgate Chambers from Stour Chambers.  Today is Amani’s first day.

Amani is a hugely experienced family lawyer.

Before joining The Bar, she spent two years in the family department at Holden & Co LLP. This has provided an invaluable insight into exactly what an instructing solicitor truly values from counsel, insight we are sure we will be able to use to continue improve the level of service we offer all our clients.

Despite a varied professional background in all aspects of family law, Amani now specialises in Children Law, both from a public and private perspective.  She regularly acts for parents in applications for Child Arrangement Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders.  She is also highly experienced in Guardianship disputes concerning living and contact arrangements.

In addition, Amani brings enormous experience in more specialist areas of family law.  These include domestic abuse, neglect, non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, substance abuse and mental health issues.  Her understanding of mental health issues is unparalleled having also spent year in voluntary service at the Blackfriars Settlement Clinic and Citizens Advice Bureau.  This has given her invaluable background in assisting vulnerable clients.

We would like to wish Amani a warm welcome and look forward to helping her continue to build a thriving family law practice at Westgate Chambers.
