Today Westgate Chambers welcomes Gerardine Buckley. This is the latest senior addition to our flourishing Family Law team and one we know brings enormous expertise in key areas, most particularly Care Proceedings, Adoption and Special Guardianship.
Gerardine joins us with 30 years of experience as a specialist family practitioner in courts across Kent, East Sussex and London.
Over the past 12 years she has practiced exclusively in relation to children. Her main focus is on public law proceedings, and she is widely instructed on behalf of parents, grandparents and other family members including competent children.
Gerardine also represents children, through their children’s guardian, and adults who lack capacity, instructed by the Official Solicitor.
More recently she has built a strong reputation in Eastern European cases as well as in cases involving children who have been subjected to County Lines exploitation and other grooming.
Westgate Chambers’ Senior Clerk Sean Gould was quick to add his welcome to Gerardine:
“Westgate Chambers welcomes Gerardine Buckley. Although we knew her specialism in Public Law Care Proceedings, Adoption and Special Guardianship would immediately strengthen our growing Family Law team, Gerardine’s experience in East European cases and, more specifically, in grooming and County Lines cases made her an even better choice for chambers. These are, unfortunately, areas in which we are increasingly being instructed to advocate in.”
We would like to wish Gerardine the very best during her time at Westgate Chambers and very much look forward to see her practice continue to thrive in her new home.
