Westgate Chambers will be joining The Brighton Legal Walk 2023. Our team includes barristers Sarah Taite, Linda Taylor, John Hatton, Cerys Sayer, Nicola Sully and Lauren Winser and all are looking forward to raising as much as they can for advice agencies in and around Brighton.
The Brighton Legal Walk is a 10km sponsored walk along our picturesque local coastline. It begins at 5pm from Brighton Magistrates Court and ends at the Citizens Advice Brighton & Hove office.
Like its counterpart – The London Legal Walk – it’s aim is to raise vital funds for the provision of free legal advice in the Brighton area. We are very pleased to see that 100% of the funds raised will go directly to BHT Sussex, Citizens Advice Brighton & Hove, Possability People and Money Advice Plus, all of whom provide invaluable support for those in our community who need it most.
The Brighton Legal Walk also gives us the opportunity to walk shoulder to shoulder with fellow members of the Brighton legal community.
Law firms, other barristers’ chambers, advice agencies, in house legal departments and and university law groups will join together to walk the breath-taking coastal route before enjoying a few refreshing (and much needed) drinks at a reception hosted by LLST.
Why is The Brighton Legal Walk 2023 so important?
The demand for legal advice services has risen dramatically over the past year and the cost of living crisis continues to heap immense pressure on legal advice agencies who are struggling to cope with such unprecedented demand.
Like the rest of the Brighton legal community, we believe everybody should be able to receive legal advice when they need it most. Joining the Brighton Legal Walk is our way of showing our support and doing what we can to help the amazing agencies who underpin the legal world.
We trust our walk will follow on naturally from this year’s London Legal Walk which saw 16,000 walkers raise £910,000 in support of frontline free legal advice agencies in its most successful year yet.
If you would like to support our team, we would be very grateful if you could click here and donate what you can.
